Description: You've probably heard of or even built Dave Gingery's Lil' Bertha melting furnace. I built it, and absolutely loved it! Way to go Dave! However, there were a few things I thought to improve after the brief but productive life of my original Lil' Bertha. Heavy duty firebrick with sawn grooves for the element, and a GREAT home brew recipe for lightweight refractory are the major improvements. You get a printer friendly pdf file with color photos, tables, CAD drawings, parts list, tools-required-list, names of suppliers, and more! Download now, and discover the versatility and convenience of this easily built furnace! |

Customer Reviews:Wes Trenholme-Pihl (Sunday, 26 April 2009)Rating: ![]() Exactly what I was looking for to be able to build this. If you are interested in building one, I highly recommend this download. Definitely worth the price, in my opinion. Thanks Dan.rnrnA few notes for Dan... more introduction/explanation about the wooden retaining boards to hold the shell together when packing the refractory would be nice. I figured it out but that step took some time to interpret. Also adding these boards and talc to the materials checklist so that it would be all inclusive. Also I found it a bit unclear if you put the terminals in place through the shell and firebricks prior to packing refractory or if you drilled holes in the refractory for them one it had dried. Everything else was extremely well layed out and explained!rn YuZhenjiang (Thursday, 04 September 2008) Rating: ![]() i just want known how could i make a sand casting.rnthis is a good webside, so i can learn more good technology. |
